Fit still decides comfort. Choose a flange or insert size that lets the nipple move freely without rubbing or pulling too much areola. Begin with low suction, increase only to a comfortable level, and stop to seek lactation help if pumping causes pain, damage, blocked ducts, or anxiety about supply.
Heat and humidity change the kit. A breast pump bag may need room for ice packs, a clean wet bag, spare breast pads, a light cover, and a power bank or charger. If you pump at work, check whether you have a private room, pantry fridge access, and a place to rinse or safely store parts before buying the most complicated setup.
